Participant Qualifications for The Race toOrlando:

  • Must be a current member of the Florida GCSA
  • Must be a current member of the GCSAA
  • Must be employed in golf course maintenance at a golf facility in Florida.

The Race to Orlando Events and Points Distribution

  • Qualifying Events
    • Poa Annua Stroke Play Tournament, May 17, 2025, Tiburon Golf Club
    • 29th Annual Florida GCSA Steven Wright Memorial Golf Tournament, July 31 - Aug. 2, 2025,The Resort at Longboat Key
    • The North Florida GCSA Fall Ron Hill Classic, October 17, 2025
    • Florida GCSA Benevolent Golf Tournament, October 28, 2025 - The Dye Preserve
    • The Central Florida GCSA Crowfoot Open, December 1, 2025
  • Each “Points Race” qualifying event will have 2 ways to gain Brandt Cup points: Event points and the ‘Bonus’ points system.
  • Event “Points Race” points will be awarded as follows:
    • 50 points awarded to the series event champion
    • 35 points to the second-place finisher
    • 20 points to the third-place finisher
    • 10 points to the fourth-place finisher
    • 5 points awarded to each additional player that turns in a scorecard.
  • The Bonus Points system will award players points on the following system based on participation at each qualifying event.
  • Bonus Points for each player that turns in a scorecard will receive 1 additional point for every player that they beat.
    • For example, if the field has 30 players, the winner will receive 29 bonus points for beating the other 29 other players. Second place would receive 28 bonus points because that is how many players they beat. Third place would receive 27 bonus points because that is how many players they beat.
    • Third to last would receive 2 bonus points because they only beat two players. Second to last would receive 1 bonus point because they only beat one player. And last place would receive no bonus points because they did not beat anyone in the field.
  • The “Race to Orlando” points will be managed by the Florida GCSA Golf Committee and published through Unknown Golf.
  • The top ten earners from the “Points Race” will:
    • Comprise Team #1 and Team #2 to represent the Florida GCSA at the National Championship.
    • Receive reimbursement for the GCSAA National Championship entry fee and travel expenses up to a predetermined amount depending on the individual’s points ranking following The Crowfoot Open.
    • Also receive team shirts and other SWAG (or team apparel)to wear during GCSAA National Champion play.
  • The top 5 net earners from the "Point Race" will"
    •  Comprise a team at the GCSAA National Classic Tournament.
    • Receive reimbursement for the GCSAA National Championship entry fee and travel expenses up to a predetermined amount depending on the individual’s points ranking following The Crowfoot Open.
    • Also receive team shirts and other SWAG (or team apparel)to wear during GCSAA National Champion play.
