Registration and Information

The FGCSA Golf Team Championship and Scramble are open to ALL FGCSA Members. The Golf Team Championship is a qualifying event for the Florida GCSA Team at the GCSAA National Championship.

Schedule of Events

 

Thursday, August 4, 2016

·         1:00pm – 4:00pm: Florida GCSA Summer and Annual Board Meeting

·         6:00pm – 8:00pm: Florida GCSA Opening Reception and Roundtable Discussion featuring facilitator, Trent Bouts, Editor, The Florida Green

6:00-7:00 – Networking, Cocktails, Appetizers

6:30 – 8:00pm - Roundtable Panel Discussion

o   Course Renovations – Effective Communication, Before, During and After the Renovation Process. The role of the Superintendent and Architect.

§  Kipp Schulties, Kipp Schulties Golf Design, Inc.

·         Kipp Schulties is an independent golf course designer located in Jupiter.  Kipp has more than 25 years of experience in the field of golf course design, development and project management and has been associated with almost 50 different golf course projects throughout the United States and the Caribbean.

§  Jason Straka, Fry/Straka Global Design

·         Jason Straka is an industry leader in environmental golf course design, blending his formal education, rigorous professional training and considerate design experience to produce a tradition of excellence. Jason’s specialty is integrating a golf course both funtionally and aesthetically into its surrounding environment.

§  Stuart Bothe, Vanderbilt Country Club

·         Vanderbilt Country Club completed $2.4 million 18-hole renovation in November 2015.  Kipp Schulties was the Golf Course Architect.  Stuart will share his experience and insight into the renovation process; challenges, triumphs, and the unique Architect/Superintendent relationship.

§  Nick Kearns, The Oaks Club

·         The Oaks Club, Heron Course completed a $6.3 million renovation in November 2015.  Jason Straka was the golf course architect.  Nick will share his experience using drone technology to visually share the renovation progress with his members and the importance of a good working relationship between the Superintendent and Architect.

·         $100.00/per superintendent

·         $200.00/per vendor (no tee sign)*

Ø  All Entry Fees include Roundtable Discussion, Opening Reception, one drink ticket for the Opening Reception, light-fare breakfast, golf, range balls, lunch buffet, and prizes!

Ø  Chapter Teams may consist of 5 players with the best 4 out of 5 scores counting.  (Chapter teams must consist of superintendents only. Vendors may participate in the 2-Man Scramble)

Ø  A Chapter may play with 4 players with all scores counted.

Ø  Chapters may enter more than one team.

Ø  The Scramble will be separate from the Chapter Team Event.

Ø  Individuals or 2 person pairs can register for the Scramble.

Ø  One gross and one net team plus individual prizes for low gross and net – for both Team Championship and Scramble!

Ø  Low gross superintendent will earn a spot on the FGCSA team for the GCSAA National Championship!

*Vendors choosing this option, may only register one player from the same company – additional players from the same company may be registered by choosing an available level of sponsorship.
